Mentioned in passing by the all wise and powerful Wiggi, hybrid classes effectively combined character classes. Unlikely the uber class promoted by the less wise and powerful 3 Man, the hybrid class combines classes in a way that is both effective and balanced. Different than multiclass by virtue of the equal, steady progression in two classes simultaneously, versus the multiclass which puts you firmly in one class then introduces a second.
Please puruse the information on pages 85 to 105 of this link. Please note especially the three warnings. One, hybriding two classes in the same role gives you an equally effective character to a single role class. Two, hybriding two classes in different roles gives you a less effective, but more versatile character. Three, unlike the core classes, not all hybrid classes are created equal. Unless anyone especially objects I am open to allowing hybrids in July.
Any objections? Which hybrids look enticing to you?

i am putting together my avenger/multi-class rogue as an avenger/rogue hybrid. i haven't been too impressed with the balancing. i don't necessarily like the having to balance the classes so much, like having to have equal numbers of each powers from each class. i'll keep looking into mine but overall i think the traditional multi-class works just fine. (though i do wish there was a way to pick up an at-will power from the second class, you can only use feats to get encounter, utility and daily powers.)

The more I look at this the more I agree with you. For most people the multiclass actualy works pretty well.

At the moment, no, but I think we all should be prepared to change once it's been played. Theory-crafting is great, but it will take real time experience before we know if it's OP or not.

Agreed. Given that the change is for Wiggi, too, gives me more a comfort that the request is for flavor than maximization.

i would consider the riposte strike instead of the overwhelming strike. just because it would seem to be taking revenge on the other guy for hitting me. you know he struck me and insulted my god so now can have a little bit of vengeance for his audacity.

So a double attack vs an attack and shift. Sounds reasonable'ish.

That is dissapointing. Brings me back to my original question, "why do multi or hybrid characters have to be shafted by unneccesary requirements?"

It gets even worse. You can only take the hybrid talent feat once. You have the option again at 11th level (paragon pth something or other).

And that, folks, is the final word: hybrids suck.
