Just talked to Kurt and he's in, baby! That makes us all in for the first time... ever? I'm not certain about that, but certainly the first time in a while. So with NC09 just around the corner let's review the party as I have it.
Brian: elf ranger Thorn (new player and character)
Donny: goliath warden Grauni (new race and class and character)
General: dwarf fighter Tankus (now trained in the WoW school of tanking)
Justin: elf rogue Hana (considering a switch to crossbow)
Kurt: human barbarian Thanekert (new class and character)
Nat: shadar-kai avenger Usul Feyd (new race and class and character)
Sleeper: human fighter Kra-son (new character)
Steven: human wizard Roland (considering a multi to cleric)
Wade: dragonborn warlord Akra (new player and character)
With all of the new races and classes and players and characters and a years worth of experience (for some), aside from your own character, who are you most interested in seeing in action?

Over the past few weeks we determined that roles are the new classes. That role determines what you do, class determines how you do it and race adds flavor to the mix. We also explored optimized race/mix combos based strictly on desirable attributes. Now I want to know who does it best? Who is the ultimate defender? Who is the ultimate striker? Who is the ultimate leader? Who is the ulitmate controller? By now you are all surely worshiping the Optimizer. You are welcome. With all this talk of roles and class what happened to race? Remember DND, the red box? You just picked your race and that was your class and role. Now race seems to be relegated to fluff. Or is it? Are there any race/class combos that dominate? What race will you play? Why did you choose it? The only thing better than an exciting sword and sorcery story is a sword and sorcery story about you! How do you become the center of attention? You could drink a quart of mead and insist your dwarf can fly (ahem), or you could write yourself into the story. |
