Using healing surges to recharge encounter powers seems pretty powerful. I hope you already planned to step up the monsters a little. Also, it gives CON characters a huge advantage. Too much advantage right?

I like what i read. The AP thing seems like it might be fun as long as there are appropriate towers in this campaign. I really like the new delaying mechanics. This should make certain situations easier to deal with and hopefully go more smoothly this year. Healing surges should be cool this year. I will hopefully remember to use them this year. I would not say this makes CON players to powerful, in my opinion. Of course i guess i am a CON player, and a standing tank is better than an unconscious tank. IMO

Oh and how are "1"s gonna effect us this year? Still a broken item or flies out of our hands?

So much blog activity. I feel so loved and affirmed. First of all, a 35 initiative! Jeez, what are you? The adhd ranger?! Seriously, I am suprised about the buzz surrounding the initiative idea. It's actually Don's idea and I'm curious to see it in action.

The "High" con char. will likely only have 2-3 more healing surges than a low con character so maybe 30% more and the guys with the high con will need them for hit points. I see that being a non issue.

I am one of those PC's that could use those surges for power recharge. The only time I really took damage last year was in the final battle where I got tired of delaying and rushed in.

You didn't take damage? Does that mean this is really easy?

So, not until the final battle did anyone feel fearful of Death?

Nope that was just the one that i was more worried about the dpsers getting killed and used an encounter power instead of a healing surge. There were other ones and i think last year was the first year no one died during an encounter, when i say us i mean me. Was close a coupla times. the on encounter in the swamp comes to mind when a small druid was playing and i think i got close a time or two for several of us.

Regarding the dangerousness of encounters that tough to get a feel for. A party can end an encounter fast and with little damage but have the distinct impression that if they hadn't done everything exactly the way they did it would have gotten ugly fast. Conversly, an encounter can go slow and consume a lot of resources but never give you the impression that defeat was possible. It's like watching a real fight. Sometimes it's a quick stoppage but it could have gone either way (Lesnar v Carwin), and sometimes it's a long drawn out decision but the outcome is never in question (GSP v Hardy).

Then you get something that was a bit unexpected. (LIDDELL vs. FRANKLIN) At least it was unexpected for me.

Oh, yeah! This time next week I'll be enjoying whatever Donny makes for dinner, putting the finishing touches on my by then 10th level toon and in general starting to get my grrove on. All in preparation for 6+ hours of torturing Nat as he tries to contain my badassadry which, of course, is widely known as "THAT WHICH CAN NOT BE CONTAINED!". Oh, hell yeah!
